From shaping young minds in Kindergarten to spearheading educational innovation as Vice-Principal, Ms. Ishita Dey's journey at Tarapore School is a testament to passion and progress.
Starting in 2005 as a Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Dey’s dedication quickly earned her the role of Junior Primary Coordinator in 2009, where she guided Standards I and II. Her commitment to enhancing education took her to the UK in 2010, where she represented Tarapore School in the prestigious UKIERI Exchange Programme. Inspired by the creative teaching methods she observed in Bristol, she brought back fresh ideas that made learning more engaging and enjoyable for her students.
Her leadership skills saw her promoted to the Primary Coordinator and soon after, to Vice-Principal in the same year. Under her guidance, the Primary Mathematics department earned accolades for three consecutive years from the Tata Steel Excellence Programme, thanks to their inventive teaching strategies. Ms. Dey also played a pivotal role in securing awards for improving school processes.
A forward-thinking educator, Ms. Dey took the lead in applying the New Education Policy (NEP) at Tarapore School, ensuring that the school stayed ahead in delivering quality education. Her relentless pursuit of excellence was recognised in 2020 when she was honoured with the National Award for Teachers by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Continuing her journey of professional growth, Ms. Dey recently completed the EdLeap Programme at IIM Kolkata, further enhancing her leadership skills at one of India’s top institutions. Ms. Ishita Dey envisions a school where learning is not just a task but an adventure—one filled with curiosity, creativity, and joy. Through her visionary leadership, she continues to inspire both teachers and students, making education a truly transformative experience for all.
