School Achievements

International Dimension Award 2020-2023

Tarapore School applied for the British Council International Dimension Award 2020-23 (previously called the ISA Award) . The students of the various class levels were involved in various activities with an international dimension. Three of the seven projects done were collaborative projects wherein our students interacted and collaborated with students of other countries On 1st January, 2021 the school was accredited with the International Dimension Award. 2020-23 by the British Council.

NO BOOKS DAY

A fun filled learning experience for students of Std. VI to VIII at Tarapore School.

The teachers of Tarapore School planned an array of activities for the students of Std. VI to VIII on 'No Books Day' . The second of its kind this year was planned on 22nd July, 2023.

The objective of all the activities was to provide students with hands on experience to explore and learn. These activities are meticulously planned to create an interest amongst students about newer things other than their study material.

The student of Std. VI were exposed to Clay Art. This activity focused on their observation, creativity, aesthetic and innovative skills. Students made various sculptures and also appreciated the traditional Indian art form.

The students of Std. VII made various working models based on different scientific concepts. In making these models, they realised how models serve as a bridge in the teaching of subjects and scientific concepts. Some of the models made by the students were Anemometer, Simple Machine, Model on Air pressure and Heron's fountain.

Students of Std VIII were provided an opportunity to visit the Atal Tinkering Laboratories at Kerala Samajam Model School and Kasidih High School. The students were exposed to the state of art scientific apparatus in these laboratories. The objective of our visit was to instil in students a scientific temperament along with nurturing their creativity and their ability to think out of the box. It was a great learning experience for the students. They have learnt the concepts of science and imbibed the culture of "Think Big", " Think New", "Think out of the Box", " Innovate" And " Be creative".

Innoteach Award

Tarapore School received the Innoteach Award 2019=2020 for the project- Math in Every Walk of Life. The project was designed by Ms. Ishita Dey, Ms. Rituparna Roy and Ms. Pritilata Sarkar. The objective of the project was to help students of the primary section overcome the difficulties faced to understand the Mathematical concepts.

Our school was recognised in three areas during the J.J.Irani Excellence Award Ceremony held on 1st May,2016.



JOGGA Badminton Championship

The Junior boys team of Tarapore School was declared the winners at the JOGGA Badminton Championship organised at the Mohan Ahuja Stadium. We congratulate the team and Mr Deepak Kumar , the coach for our team.


Teacher Excellence Award

We are extremely proud to announce that Ms. Priyadarshini, Ms. Shobha Das and Ms. Sushma Verma have been identified as Academic coaches by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) under the Tejaswini Project to train teachers of different school in the State of Jharkhand.


JOGGA Chess Championship - 2023

The JOGGA Chess Championship was organised by Jusco School South Park from 11th January to 13th January, 2023. Twenty school of the city participated in the grand event.
Sourabh Kumar, Karandeep Singh and Rajanya Raj Suryavanshi represented Tarapore School in the Junior Boys category. They secured the fourth position. Out of the 65 boys of different school who played in this category, Rajanya Raj Suryavanshi secured the fifth position. In the senior boys category, Raghu Lamay, Pratyush Naman and Kushagra represented the school. We are extremely proud of the boys for bagging the winner’s trophy. Amongst 60 boys who had played in the senior category, Kushagra and Raghu Lamay secured the 7th and the 8th position respectively. The awards were handed over to the winners by Mr. Aspi Madon, Administrator JEM Foundation. Our hearty congratulations to the boys and kudos to Mr. Chandan who have trained them well.


Teacher Excellence Award - One of our founder teachers, Ms. Manjeet Kaur Sablok was awarded the Teacher Excellence Award for ‘Outstanding Contribution in Teaching Methodology’ and her contribution towards the school and the students.

Innoteach - Four of our teachers, Ms. Rajani Rajesh, Ms. Radha Michael, Ms. Sandhya Rani and the Vice-Principal Ms. Ishita Dey were awarded the Innoteach award for taking an initiative and making mathematics easy for students through various activities like solving a word problem through pictures, learning shapes and factorization using bottle caps, learning to draw angles using drinking straws. They taught Roman numbers and Mnemonics using Abbreviations.

TEEP Award - TS has been applying for the J.J.Irani Excellence Award since 2004. We have always climbed the ladder of success with this programme. This year we scored 587 points for which our Principal Ms. Amy H. Billimoria received the award for Outstanding Achievement in Excellence in Education from Mr. T.V.Narendran, the M.D of Tata Steel.

ISA Award

Tarapore School was awarded the prestigious British Council International School Award (ISA) which is a benchmarking scheme that accredits schools as having an outstanding level of support for nurturing global citizenship in young people and enriching teaching and learning. The overall in charge Mrs. Tina Bodhanwala Sood, ISA Co-ordinator Mrs. Radha Michael and the team of teaachers Ms. Mukti Chawla, Ms. Neetu Arora, Ms. Dimple Jiya, Ms. Rajani Rajesh, Ms. Malini P.S, Ms. T. Padmavati, and Mr. Rohit Sachdeva worked hard together to achieve this award.

Confederation of education excellence award (CEE) - 2016


Tarapore School was awarded the ICONIC SCHOOL award in the upcoming school category, by the Confederation of Education Excellence, New Delhi.
Much of the credit goes to the Excellence programme conducted by Tata Business Excellence Group here in Jamshedpur, which the school has been a part of since 2004, and which has guided the school in its processes, leading it to become one of the top ranking schools in Jamshedpur. The award was handed over by the Deputy Chief Minister of New Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia, to the Vice Principal, Ms. Ishita Dey and the Coordinator, Ms. Richa Thaker at a ceremony conducted at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Rohini, New Delhi on September 3rd, 2016.

ICSE Examination - 2015

  •   25% of the students achieved above 90 % marks.

Zindagi - suraksha ke sang (safety play) - 2015

Safety has now become one of the most commonly used terms in the school and has been achieved The school organised a Safety concert in Jamshedpur, Zindagi- Suraksha ke Sang, took part in Parivartan, an initiative of the Jamshedpur Police and constantly thinks of ways to spread the awareness of safety to different groups.

The winner takes it all - 2015

In 2015, the school staged a play ‘The Winner Takes It All’, a musical based on the Merchant of Venice. Nearly 1700 students of the various schools of Jamshedpur and 1300 people of Jamshedpur, witnessed and appreciated the play. This was the second musical staged by the school at a grand level.

In 2014, the school was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Excellence in Education at a ceremony, when the trophy was handed over by Dr. Radhakrishnan, and it is now the third highest scoring school in Jamshedpur, and continues to pursue the coveted Dr. J.J. Irani Trophy.
An Innoteach project initiated by the Primary teachers of the school was also recognised at the same function.


Design For Change Recognition - 2014

The school also submitted a project – Litter to Glitter – to the Design for Change competition in November 2014 and was recognised for its achievements.

British Council Recognition - 2013

In November 2013, the school was also awarded by the British Council for the School Enterprise Challenge for its enterprise, Bis-Kids, which won three international awards, The Best Executed Business Plan, the Best Name and the Best Logo.

In November 2013, the school was awarded the trophy for the Best Safety Manual, an award handed over by the MD of JUSCO, Mr. Ashok Mathur and Ms. Ruchi Narendran.

In 2012, the school was again recognized for Active Promotion of Excellence in Education at a ceremony, when the trophy was handed over by Dr. Y. Rajan and is now the highest scoring school in the primary level, amongst all the schools which applied for the award.


International Recognition - 2011

The Chairman of the school, Mr. B.D. Bodhanwala was also recognized with the V_Ed Innovative Leadership award by the Council for Global Education, USA at the 5th International Conference for pre-primary Principals and the 5th International Ed Leadership Roundtable at CMS, Lucknow, in October 2011.
The Vice Principal of the school, Ms. Ishita Dey, represented the school and was also awarded the Fellowship award for Innovative practices, at the same function.


EQUIP Award - 2011

In the year 2011, the school was also awarded the prize for EQUIP (Excellence in Quality Improvement Projects) for the WLPPR sheet, developed as an innovation in the school to track the adherence to the lesson plan and syllabus. Earlier in February 2011, a paper on the same topic had been delivered by the Junior Primary Coordinator, at a National Good Practice Seminar, held at New Delhi by the SCERT.

However, in February 2011, one of the proudest moments was when the Honourable Ex- President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam presented the trophy for Active Promotion of Excellence in Education, when the school crossed the 500+ band for the 2010-11 assessment.

LOVE ME DO - 2011

The very first play to be staged by the school was ‘Love Me Do’ staged in 2011, an amalgamation of songs by the popular band, ‘The Beatles’ and the movie, ‘Happy Feet’.

For the 2009-2010 assessment, the school crossed the 450+ band and, at one of the most memorable occasions, was handed over the trophy for Significant Achievement in Excellence in Education by the then Managing Director of Tata Steel, Mr. Hemant Nerurkar.

For the 2007-2008 assessment, the school showed sustained improvement in the same band and was again recognized at a ceremony. This time the Managing Director of Tata Steel, Mr. Muthuraman, handed over the trophy to the Principal of the school.

The Dr. J.J. Irani Award for Excellence was initiated in 2004 with the purpose of incorporating excellence in the schools in Jamshedpur. Being a new school, with most of our processes in the learning stages, TS decided to apply for the award with the idea that it would help the school to design correct procedures and also ensure that proper planning for the future was thought of. The school was first recognized at a function for the Dr. Jamshed J. Irani Award for Excellence in Education on 12th May, 2007, when the Honourable Finance Minister of India, Mr. P. Chidambaram, handed over the Trophy for a Strong Commitment to TQM in Education to the Excellence Coordinator of the school.
