About / Managing Committee

Mr. Bailey Bodhanwala

Mr. B. D. Bodhanwala, the Chairman of the Tarapore School, has been a benefactor in the field of education. After spending a lifetime in the field of business, transport and construction, he decided to contribute to society by starting two schools in Jamshedpur which would provide quality education at an affordable cost. The intention of starting these schools was to provide education with a difference. He wished that children from mediocre backgrounds should have the opportunity to study in an environment which was stress-free and which would impart an education with a difference.
The Chairman has been known in the town of Jamshedpur as a great social worker and as someone who always put others’ needs before his own. It is this value that he has cascaded down to every stakeholder of the two schools. It is always with a sense of pride that we speak of our Chairman, recognising the great contribution he has made in the field of education, both by inspiring the leaders of the school and by supporting them where necessary. We also admire his charitable nature and support to the various organisations in Jamshedpur.
He believes that –
  • Instilling correct values is more important than attaining academic qualifications.
  • Students should not be unnecessarily burdened with facts, but should be made to understand concepts better.
  • Each citizen is responsible for his surroundings and should work for its improvement.

Mrs. Rubina Bodhanwala

Born and brought up in Jamshedpur, Ms. Rubina Bodhanwala has always liked to give back to society as much as she can in any way. Which is why she began a pre-primary school called Little Hearts, in 1995, which has been running successfully ever since. Little Hearts offers a much-preferred early education programme for the smallest children of the town, as after graduating from this school, the children are absorbed into the well-reputed secondary schools. Keen to do something more creative in life, she began a new venture called ‘Wonder Works’, a designer boutique
that showcases her talent, as well as that of a few of her teachers. One of the few things in her life that have given her maximum satisfaction is her association with ‘Anurag foundation’, an association that supports all academic children. She believes that children are truly God’s gift, hence, loving every child like your own gives immense happiness. She also feels that the best form of happiness is the satisfaction derived from one’s field of work.
