Principal’s Address

This year, when I sat down to pen my thoughts, I was constantly troubled by the thought that students are failing to achieve their dreams due to a lack of a positive attitude.

I thus thought of writing about how important it is to have a positive attitude towards life and its challenges. The very first lesson that one needs to remember is to value oneself. Believe in yourself and work hard to achieve success. Value yourself, irrespective of the failures or obstacles, and don’t degrade yourself just because of the temporary setbacks.

Secondly, don’t choose to live with your problem. Everyone has problems. Just shake off your problems and stand on them and step up in life after learning from them. Every bad experience is a new learning. So get the positive learning out of it and work towards your goals.

In Brian Tracy’s words“ You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude towards what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you”.

We must always remember that success or failure in life is all about us and our mindset. If we train ourselves to look at everything in life with a positive attitude, we will find that life is not as difficult as we think it is.

Whenever you feel depressed and down, always remember the words of Kahlil Gibran-
“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens”

All these great sayings have been validated by many great men in history. However the name that comes to my mind first is Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of the famous KFC. He was a seventh grade drop-out, who tried many ventures in life, but faced failure each time. It is hard to believe that his recipe got rejected 1,009 times before the final approval. Soon the secret recipe, “Kentucky Fried Chicken” became a huge hit worldwide. KFC expanded globally, the company was sold for two million dollars and the face of Colonel Harland Sanders is still celebrated in its logo. His life teaches us never to stop believing in our dreams.

My only advice to students would be to believe in their potential and to always have a never-give-up attitude.

Wishing everyone a great 2020-21!
